iriver h320 question.
undergroundx:
I just bought an iriver H320 i used to have an H10 in which i put rockbox on it. My question is can i go to the automatic build where it installs everything for you and do that to my mp3 player and have it working with me not doing anything to it. That may sound confusing on how i wrote that what im trying to ask is if i run that auto installation do i have to make patches or anything like that does this install do everything for me. Cause i was reading on installing rockbox for the h320 and it lookds complicated all this firmware change and U.S versions looks hard and i dont wanna screw up my player i just got so could i run the automatic one with no issues at all and not have to do anything and have a good version of rockbox runnning no problem?

The manual is a mystical wealth of knowledge.

Basically, there's one or two extra steps you need to do for the H300.
You have to download a firmware update from iriver and put it somewhere on your player you could find it. Then run RButil. There will then be the extra steps during the install. RBUtil SHOULD tell you what these steps are, but basically when you have it do the full install, you have to do a couple things to finish. After running RButil you have to boot up your player, into the original firmware, and tell the original firmware to do a firmware upgrade (I'm not sure where this option is). If you have a US player you may need to reboot and do this again.
If at any point you aren't sure *exactly* what to do, don't click on anything, but ask a specific question and someone may be able to help.

ok im going to explain on how i would do this can you tell me if its right or not. Ok i so i go into current build grab the iriver h320/340 build. I then extract it into my iriver"s root of the player. I then go to this link
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IriverBoot
and grab one of those files not sure which one. And then i also copy that to the root of the folder
Then i go to
http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/iriver/ and grab this file bootloader-h300.bin also put that into the root of the player.
I then disconnect the player and go to update firmware and let it do its thing then reboot and rockbox should load up no problem?
Llorean:
No. Did you read the manual? Did you try RBUtil, which I clearly mentioned you should use in my above post?
