Am I the only one having problems?
Llorean:
Well, my point was more "when you use the phrase 'the latest' and are demonstrably not using the latest, it raises concerns that you aren't aware of important details such as what it actually is expected to mean by people at the other end of communications."
But we also have very, very few 3G users. If it's something introduced within the last month or two, it may very well be that no 3G user has updated recently enough to experience it. As well, it may be something unique to your setup which, while still a bug, can also be unique to you. So I would suggest further investigation, yes.

Thank you for pointing that out - will be more precise in the future and will include actual revision number. I had no idea that this project was being worked on that agressively - several releases a day - wow. Will assume that it is something wrong here until I can reliably reproduce the problem and get a few other 3G users to confirm that it is a bug. Then will report it in the proper thread with all relevant steps to reproduce it. Again I appoligize for my loose wording of "latest".
EDIT
After a LOT of testing, I must assume that there is something Seriously wrong with this release... The symptoms change ALL THE TIME. When I skip to a PREVIOUS song I loose audio, for no reason it goes INSANE.. RB reports 1/2 battery left when OF reports almost none left (OF is right). Problems seem to multiply when I am playing songs from the database as opposed to selecting files directly. The FILES have ALL DISSAPEARED, but can still be played from the database selection. And all works flawlessly from the OF. WTF? I Hope I can find an older version of RB that works with a 3G. Will continue to try newer builds, but am forced to resort to using the OF when I want to actually play songs. :(
Llorean:
As to the battery gauge issue, it's likely the battery meter isn't calibrated for the 3G yet, so that's probably to be expected. It's not harmful, just confusing.
Please take some time to describe specifically what's happening. "it goes INSANE" provides basically no useful information whatsoever. "The FILES have ALL DISAPPEARED" is confusing. Can you see folders? What's your "File View" option set to?

Just getting agrivated that a piece of electronics is picking on me.
it goes INSANE = It is doing things that were not intended and noone sane would program it to do... Loosing audio until I return to a menu and restart the song, skipping to the next track whenever it decides etc.
The files have all disappeared = I can no-longer start playing a song by selecting it under "files" because all the directories appear to be empty, yet if I select it from the "database" menu, it will play (until it decides to go off its meds :) I am thinking that I am getting nowhere with this. Before I (reluctantly) scrub RB and go back to the OF I would like to try a few older versions though I havent really looked to see where they might be. Perhaps someone that knows the development timeframe of RB could clue me in to about when major changes that could possibly be the cause occurred to help me make "educated" guesses at which to try.
Yeah the battery issue didnt concern me - just added that in case someone that knows about these things might need to know ALL the issues it is having to make an accurate guess.
Thanks for your help -
Llorean:
You didn't answer what your "File View" setting is set to. This is very probably the answer to your "I can't find my files" problem.
Please, calm down, take your time, and try to describe your problems clearly. "Losing audio" means "The volume goes to mute" or "Playback pauses" or "Every indication on the screen suggests audio is still playing, but I hear nothing"? How do you "restart" the song? By re-playing it in the database or by manually stopping playback and then selecting "Resume Playback" from the menu (the database isn't really a 'menu', it's the database, so your use of 'menu' leaves me uncertain as to what specifically you're referring to there). It helps if you try to describe things much more clearly, so I can actually know what's going on, and please, try to answer all of my questions if I ask them, as I usually ask for good reason.
