Am I the only one having problems?
jorj:
I have (successfully) installed rockbox on a 10GB 3G ipod, love the interface and options, but... It plays about 3/4 of a song then goes insane. It clicks like I was pushing buttons and skips to the next song and plays about 1 second of it and skips to the next then quickly cycles through all the songs on the darn thing without playing them. have done a chkdsk -r from windows and also a fsck.msdos from linux. All appears ok but something is incompatible somewhere. am thinking perhaps a memory leak in the code, but I see no one else talking about it so might only be my instalation. Also I have to reboot it into the origonal firmware to transfer files as when RB is running it does not connect via the usb cable.
Any thoughts?

2. Rockbox's (software stack) USB mode is a non-functional work-in-progress at the moment. You do need to use the OF to transfer files.
1. What revision of Rockbox are you using?
Did your ipod work OK in the OF? At very first glance it sounds like a hardware fault.
What happens if you don't start playback and just sit in the mani menu, does it still appear to generate random keypresses?

I don't know if the information I will provide is of much help, except that it may show that the problem may not be only related to jorj's iPod. I have an 80GB iPod video using r17110, and it also happened to me, but it was just one time. The only way I found to stop it was rebooting. Never happened again. The settings when it happened where the same I always use, and the same I've been using since then, without any problems (basically EQ enabled, replaygain, crossfade, shuffle, repeat shuffle, database...)

Using the latest build (currently r17201-080420), update it daily just in case. Sitting at a menu does not produce any adverse effects. only happens when I play a song. Works flawlessly on OF. Would REALLY like to use RB exclusively, but the inability to play a song all the way through without rebooting is sorta a drawback. Any other suggestions would be appreciated - Running out of things to try that might narrow it down. Perhaps a known stable (older) version?
Also removed and reinstalled the bootloader (though I dont see how that could affect the problem)
PS
Battery doesnt hold charge for very long so these problems have all occurred while connected to external power (if that affects the plan of attack)
Llorean:
Please, remember the "Daily Build" page is NOT the latest build. As of the time of your post more than a half dozen new builds had been made available via the current build page. They probably didn't resolve your problem, but it's important to know that your build is very definitely not the latest, especially for future bug reports.
