Confusion about Sansa bootloader replacing OF bootloader
(1/1)
bascule:
http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/8642 refers to a procedure that replaces the Sana's OF bootloader completely with the Rockbox one (at some risk of having to use Manufacturing mode if things go belly up).
However, does this mean that there is *no* access to the OF at all, meaning no file transfers, or is it still possible to hold << at start-up to access the OF?
Llorean:
That's really something you should ask on the task, but yes, the OF should still be able to be launched (haven't tested, but you may need to have an OF.MI4).
saratoga:
It doesn't change anything other then boot time and access to recovery mode.
Well almost nothing. I think some hardware may be initialized by the sandisk bootloader, but so far it doesn't seem to matter.
bascule:
Thanks.
As I have a somewhat irrational dislike for the brief but annoyingly animated 'SanDisk' splash at boot time, I think I'll give it a go.
