remaining disc space different when checked rockbox vs windows

iriver h320
when i goto rockbox  debug and then go to disc info it says i have 10 gb free space,
when i plug in the unit and check thru windows it says i have 16 gb free space.
i know the windows is correct.
edit: i thought the windows was correct...
what is the reason for the different readouts?

How do you know windows is correct? Check the recycle bin. Windows might have placed deleted files there and report the space as free. If you still have different values run chkdsk /f on the drive.

Another possible cause: windows does not (correctly) update the free space field.

To let rockbox recalculate it, go to system -> Rockbox Info and press navi (or play)
