e250R won't load rockbox

(1/1)

grrbear:
I already checked, it's a v1,
It's in rhapsody mode,
I followed ALL the steps,
and when it didn't work the first time I did it again.
It starts up normally,
does everything the same.
I went through step one,
the little message saying proceed to step two came up on my screen,
I put all the files needed on my sansa, manually.

Did you get an "Firmware Upgrade" message on your screen when you did it?

Did you copy the OF.mi4 (download at http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1449) in your SYSTEM folder?

Did you put the rockbox bootloader (download at http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/sandisk-sansa/e200R/) in your Sansa's root?

grrbear:
Thanks but I found the problem.
My computer kept changing the pp5022.mi4 file into a .txt file.
I got the alternative file that loads rockbox when you hold the select button on start up.

Please only post about supported bootloader, firmware, etc. in these forums.  Unsupported builds should be discussed in the appropriate topic in the Unsupported Builds forum.

zajacattack:
For anyone else who reads this thread, here is the solution:

Go to Control Panel->Folder Options->View and uncheck "Hide file extensions for known types"
You can then remove the extra ".txt" from the file with a simple rename.
