I've compiled Rockbox, and the Simulator. How does one compile rbutil, and will that compile include the patchers (like 'sansapatcher') automatically?

The rbutil folder from svn has a file INSTALL, which holds all information that is needed to build rbutil. If you have problems with the instructions in that file please ask specifically.
Building rbutil includes the source files for ipodpatcher and sansapatcher. So "the patchers" itself won't get build (you won't get a ipodpatcher / sansapatcher binary) but the functionality is built into rbutil -- i.e. no need to do anything special.

svn has a 'sansapatcher' directory sitting right alongside the rbutil one that appears to contain instructions for building it...
