Root folder problems
Teh nooblet:
ok,
this is a detailed description
when i first installed rockbox, the database could not find any songs so i went to files and then root to listened to my songs.
yesterday i discovered the update database button and now all the sogs are in my database.
now when i got to files and then "Root" it briefly says the name of the song and then says "No file!'
so now i updated my database and it says i have 899 songs(which is correct) but for some reason root says i have 901 songs and everyone of them "No file!" maybe root isnt updating or something?
if this is very confusing i will add an email address and send screenshots
Llorean:
Do you mean a playlist named Root? Going into a folder doesn't automatically start playback..
Teh nooblet:
no, i go to the option, files, at the top of the main menu on my ipod and i click it and at the bottom there is an option called Root as in Ipod root file. this file supposedly has all in the songs.when it opens it says the name of the song as usual and then it says (where the name used to be) " No file!" and it doesnt play the song unless i go to database.P.S.: root folder in the file browser, not a playlist
Llorean:
That's not a folder, if clicking on it causes it to play. Please, connect your iPod to your computer. I think you'll find it's a playlist. The "No File" message comes up when you try to run a playlist and the song it's pointing to isn't in the same place any more.
Also, be careful with terms. You said "Ipod root file" but you also called it a folder, they're two different things.
Teh nooblet:
ok i understand now,... Thank you for your help! :)
