Question: Rhapsody functionality in rockbox

(1/1)

thisbejoe7:
I have an e200 sansa, 8GB model.  (e280).  I would like to try rockbox and plan to install soon.   I've read through the forums and install manual, and only have one question.  I use Rhapsody to manage my playlists, and occasionally download new songs to my player with a "to Go" subscription.  These files are DRM protected.  My basic question is can I still connect my sansa to my PC over USB and use it with Rhapsody while running Rockbox, or will I need to use the "dual boot" method I read about in the forums?

Thanks in advance!

LambdaCalculus:
You'll have to dual boot. Rockbox does not, and may never, play any DRM files.

Thats what I figured, which isn't too big a deal for me, because I don't keep anything DRM protected anyway, but it is convenient to be able to drag and drop from rhapsody.  So I guess another question would be if Rhapsody sees rockbox as a player at all?  Will it even show up as a device in rhapsody?

Currently, rockbox does not have USB enabled on the Sansa, so you will need to use the Rhapsody firmware to transfer files regardless.

Ok thanks for clearing that up!  I appreciate all the info.
