Battery indicator numerical format question
« on: April 15, 2008, 04:40:21 PM »
I have the battery display in the status bar as numerical so I can see what percentage it is even in the main menu, but sometimes I listen and play around with the settings using an external battery. Whenever I plug that battery in the battery display changes to the battery symbol instead of being numerical. Is this deliberate? I only ask because when the battery is charging you can see a tiny plug icon next to it and I like to see that the battery is still around the 99-100% mark. If this can't be changed then fine but I am a bit obsessed with seeing the battery is full when having an external power source connected. Hope you don't mind me asking.

You are probably resetting the rockbox settings when you change the battery. Try saving your own config file and loading it after you switch batteries.

He's not resetting the settings. Please read posts more carefully. First, there's no reason unplugging the battery would reset any settings but the RTC. Second, he's not unplugging the battery.

The charging animation only shows as an image, not a percentage. When your external battery is plugged in, you're basically charging. That's why you see the image.

Fair enough. I am just getting back into using Rockbox again and I am noticing more things now than I did before. It's such an impressive firmware, and great to use. It amazes me I've been at work for two hours and there have been two builds already.
