Duplicate rows in database are driving me insane
« on: April 15, 2008, 09:42:03 AM »
Hi - I have a Sansa e200 series with 4 megs onboard and 2 more in a chip, RockBox version r16467-080301.

My problem is with multiple rows in the database. All I want to do is listen to my music. I put an album on the player and I THINK that I can listen to it once. After that each song is duplicated in the database. By that I mean that song 1 is listed twice and when I play it it PLAYS twice. At some point it's duplicated again. I have one album in there with 4 rows per song now and others with only 2.

I've removed all of the music from the player, rebuilt the database and tried again and STILL there are multiple rows per song. This is an insanely annoying problem and I can't find any way to tell the database to rebuild itself so that it it returns the correct number of rows. Neither Initialize Now or Update Now do it and I can't reliably CAUSE duplicate rows to be produced.

Please help - I'd love to keep using RockBox but due to this problem it's so annoying that I just can't.

Thanks!

Hi,

please verify if this is still a problem with the current build. Before initializing the database delete all *.tcd files in the .rockbox directory.
If this still happens please see in the "track info" screen in the WPS context menu if both entrys have the same path (to make sure that you dont have actual duplicate files, for example in the recycler)
