Cover Art Bitmap Naming
« on: April 15, 2008, 09:21:31 AM »
Howdy folks,

I just tried to get the multiple-album-art-sizes feature working and couldn't.  An example folder's contents looks like so:

song.mp3
cover.bmp
cover.116x116.bmp

... and I have loaded a theme which displays album art at 116x116, like so:

%Cl|30|0|c116|c116|

yet, the larger-size cover.bmp is still being displayed.  Have I misunderstood something here:

Quote
You can also specify the size in each filename. e.g. cover.100x100.bmp will be used for themes that display a 100x100 album art picture. Size-specific pictures will be looked for before looking for the files listed above.

or is this perhaps a bug?

Notes:
- If I delete the cover.bmp file, no album art is displayed.
- The resized bitmaps were created with FastStone and they appear to be identical to the originals in all aspects except for name and size.

Could be a bug, but to make sure... which device, what SVN build, and which WPS?

Also, I've simply used a cover.bmp file which is sized to 100x100 for my iPod video. The image displays perfectly on my WPS (iPod Widgets. I've yet to try renaming the album art, so I'm unsure of the results.

Sansa e200
r17098 (not updated because of the playback problem with FLAC files)
WPS: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/WpsSansaE200#Cabbie_2_0_w_HelvR12.

And like I said, the file named "cover.bmp" is displaying fine.  It just seems that the "cover.116x116.bmp" file isn't being displayed despite the fact that the cover size is defined as 116x116 in the WPS.

Works as expected in the simulator (on Windows) too. I.e., it finds the "cover.116x116.bmp" file just fine, even with a "cover.bmp" present. I'd suspect there's a silly typo somewhere, either in the WPS or in the filename (e.g., there's a char with the numeric code 215 (in Latin-1) that is similar to "x")...

Damn you for being right.  :)  I had an old test version of the WPS on my player that displayed at 118x118.

Merci.
