Please see our guidelines for posting in the forums. They explicitly ask you not to use such non-words as "plz" and "thnx"

As for your video, did you convert it to the right resolution?

I think I understand, but I don't know how to encode if that's what I'm supposed to do. And sorry if I'm bothering you in any way.

That page includes instructions for using several methods of encoding.

It took forever for me to find a good converter to mpeg.

That good converter should have options for changing the resolution. Most people are finding that WinFF is the simplest way of converting videos to use with Rockbox:

Wow cool thanks a lot! WinFF is very good I'm only going to keep my other converter because it has more formats. But it's great that winff has preset devices. Cool. And once again thanks.

I use a converter called handbrake, also open-source.  it has many options, but will not convert to .mp2-- it will only convert to .mp4.  i than use a freeware program that converts it the rest of the way, called media converter, to convert it to mpg.

Media Converter:
http://mediaconverter.org/index.php?s=saconverter
(look at the rest of his site and his others, he has great services)

Handbrake (convert dvd's to .mp4)

I wouldn't recommend that. More conversions translate into more quality loss.

To be honest, most free applications tend to be frontends for either ffmpeg or mencoder. This includes WinFF and Mediacoder. Therefore they support anything that the backend supports (which in case of ffmpeg and frontend is practically everything if they've been compiled with the commonly used libraries).

I like WinFF because you can easily edit the command line options without some complicated GUI.
