Can I compile rockbox any faster?

If you want to keep using cygwin temporarily disabling your anti virus software can speed it up. Also there's no need to make clean every time if you have been doing that.

I had been using cygwin, but I've just installed the VmWare development platform guided by the wiki.

cygwin was taking around 6.25 minutes for a full build, and with VmWare that has dropped to around 4 minutes.
