Toshiba f40 crash help
« on: April 11, 2008, 07:52:44 PM »
hello all,

Haven't found anything in the forum or manual about this...

it is some kind of strange crash that has rendered the player unusable.

1)  Playback freezes first
2)  within a few minutes I can still browse around to the menu, but eventually that freezes
3)  screen goes blank, with *panic* written on upper left corner, under that is a string of letters (which I don't have anymore)

Only solution was to do a hard reboot, but that just brought me back to the above scenario.

I tried loading the latest build, and then I tried to initialize the database, now it freezes with the message "Bookmark Empty"

any idea what might be going on??

thanks

Might you be having HD problems?  You can check the filesystem and try to repair any errors.

thks,

yah, I did a filesystem check and repair, but still have the same problems.  When I plug in USB I can read the drive no problem from my computer.  However, normal operation isn't happening...just a frozen screen with hard reboot as only solution (to get me back to a fresh frozen screen)

Does the Toshiba firmware work properly?
