Last.fm + RockBox... How?
« on: April 11, 2008, 12:31:37 PM »
Sorry if this topic has been covered numerous times, but the search function is being rather rude...

I was just wondering what to do with the scrobbler.log file that's in root, what to do to sync it to my last.fm account.

Please feel free to direct me to a different thread, if necessary ;)

The wiki search still works.   ;)

Have a look at this page:

Beautiful. Thank you. I'm also glad to see the same options for Linux, as I'm probably going to be using AmaroK for the majority of my Last.fm-ing ;)

Thanks.

I can't stress enough how awesome QTScrobbler is.
With its support for the later Last.FM protocol it allows you to submit out-of-order tracks without triggering Last.FM's spam response, something none of the other programs in the wiki can claim (last time I looked.)

I have an ipod 5.5G 80GB. I am using todays build. I have never gotten this to work (across many, many versions). I go in to Settings>General Settings>Playback>Last.fm Log and select Yes. I get a message telling me to reboot to enable. I hold the center button and menu until it reboots. I play a couple of songs, pause or shutdown and then plug it in to USB. I check the root directory and there is no .scrobbler.log. What am I doing wrong? This seems to work for everyone else.

When it is working and you do a normal shutdown (holding pause/play) do you have to select Yes on last.fm logging and reboot before you play anything? If so, that blows.

That is your problem
You just pushed the reset button.  A brutal shutdown which doesn't give Rockbox a chance to save your settings.

You want to shutdown your iPod with a (long) press of "Play" and then turn your player back on by pressing "Select".

Thanks. I was pretty sure it was operator error. I will give that a shot.
