C240 USB

Hi, I'm new here.

I brought a relatively cheap Sansa C240 from Ebay. It's a version 1. I installed rockbok on it, but I'm not sure it worked correctly, because the after the reboot the player was freezing on Sansa logo. I went to the recovery mode and reuploaded an original firmware, but then rbutilqt was not able to find the Sansa anymore. So i decided to rename rockbox.mi4 to firmware.mi4. Now rockbox is loading, but when I plug the usb cable, It shows me an usb cable, then after 1-2 seconds the sansa bootscreen, and the the rockbox interface. And the whole process is starting over and over again, so I can do nothing but go into recovery mode.

I used the original Firmware for less than 5 minutes, but it looked ok, so I don't think it's a hardware issue.

If anyone has an idea help is really appreciated.

Regards

Rockbox doesn't have a fully working USB mode yet. Reboot back into the original firmware to transfer files for now; refer to the manual for information on how to dual boot.

MarcGuay:
Do you mean to say that you're stuck in a reboot loop?  Or can you still get into the Sansa firmware?  I don't think that renaming rockbox.mi4 to firmware.mi4 was such a bright idea... But if you can still get into recovery mode, try rolling back the firmware to an older version by following the instructions here:

http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SansaC200Port#Troubleshooting

... and then reinstalling Rockbox by following the instructions in the manual.

Yes, it's a rebooting loop. but i still can get the recovery mode. booting in the original firmware is not working at the moment. But I will try this evening at home under Linux, because at work  under Windows, the player is not seen as a mass-storage device, but as some kind of "Music player" that do not show in the My computer, so I can not use rbutilqt. I saw on a thread that there is an usb option in the original Firmware, but I don't find it.

Thanks for your replies.

MarcGuay:
That problem and the fix is explained on the page I linked you too, as well.  Good luck.
