Ok, i will do it. As you can see i'm not a native english speaker, so it may be hard for me :S, but we'll see.
Me too...  :)

Thank you for giving me such a credit, but in fact it's not a big deal i think.
If so, I can imagine people might send you a free DAP, just for you to port  :D. I guess there are many DAPs around which use Hw parts that is already supported, but no-one did the integration work for them. This kind of work is definitely important for Rockbox.

When it will be available in the trunk, i would like to focus on the RTC and the keymaps.
I can help you with the keymaps, and probably with the manual too. Please try to document (even if you're English is not perfect) some target specific information (installation method, etc) that is of use for users, and should be included in the manual.

Good luck!

I'd like to echo the part about the manual - the hard part with documenting these things is not having the hardware, and therefore not knowing how it works.  I'd be more than happy (as would others I'm sure) to polish the English if the actual detail is there. :)

Thanks! It would be great.

Thanks! I just wonder, maybe it will be good to add the simulator now, so you and the other developers could easier help me with the keymaps for the plugins and the manual too? Or maybe it won't simplify the work at all?

I've added the installation steps on the Wiki, i don't know if it is good enough. I'm not sure what else could be added at this moment.

Definitely. Please provide an image of the player, and a description of its buttons.
Are you going to do that, or do you want someone else to try and do it?

Yes, an actual scan of the player front would be nice, so that I can start working on the SVG for the manual too, all pictures I found of the player are either low detail or from an odd angle for this purpose.

I've updated the Wiki page with a image I found on the net. This is image is composed of four different diagram of the player from all direction, in addition to a list its component.

tomers: thank you this is a nice overview, but I tend to not use a simplified image to make a simplified image myself. I can see some differences, so an actual photo would be nice:), but for the button placement this will be very helpfull.
maybe it is enough and I try with this one though.

b0hoon: do you have this image a little bigger? the small images on the download page are usually made from the svg version, even if this comes pretty close to it.

/edit
nevermind I found it, I give it a try when I have time.

I'm not very happy about my work :S. I can't take a good picture of it with my camera. However i have made a scans of the player (it's in 300 DPI) , but i don't know if they are useful too:

http://hotfile.com/dl/25995768/91a91ce/Vibe500_Scans.zip.html

I'm afraid i can do nothing more with my equipment, i can still try to take a picture, if it will be necessary.

perfectdrug, tomers: Is the UI image good enough or should i wait for your work? (maybe you can do something better with the scans)

For an initial work on the DAP's simulator, having a UI image of descent quality is not important at all. For all I care you can put a photo of a naked woman there.

In fact it is not. I must confess that i've retouched it a bit. ;) And its internals are slightly modyfied too (different hard drive and its dock).
