Directories useless ?

Hi

I've just bought a Ipod video 5,5 from a friend. Rockbox was installed...and yamipod I guess so.
When I browse the hard disk, i got a lot of directories :
.rockbox
.Spotlight-V100
.Trashes
iPod_Control

Theres are many files on the root to :
._.Trashes
._.VolumeIcon.icns
._iPod_Control
.DS_Store
.scrobbler.log
.VolumeIcon.icns

I wonder what directories/files are useless and I can safely delete since I use only Rockbox ?  ???

BTW, anyone has a bug with repeat function ? repeat one seems broken :(

cool_walking_:
.rockbox is where all the rockbox files are, you definitely need that. .scrobbler.log is created by the last.fm feature.

iPod_Control is used by the Apple firmware.  I think you can delete this if you don't use it, but I'm not 100% sure.

.Trashes, .Spotlight-V100, .VolumeIcon.icns and .DS_Store are created by Mac OS X.  Google will tell you what they each are for, but you can safely delete those.

I can only assume ._.Trashes, ._.VolumeIcon.icns, and ._iPod_Control are backups the previously mentioned files.

Chronon:
Try the DiskTidy plugin.  It should get rid of those orphaned files and directories left behind by OSX.

SDK:
I've used DiskTidy plugin (not listed on the manual  :o), it didn't delete the .Spotlight-V100 directory tough.
I did it myself but now I cannot turn on my Ipod and it isn't recognyzed by Windows XP  :'(

EDIT : the 20th time was a success but i fear the worst. A probleme with disktidy or the usb bootlaoder code ?  ???

Disktidy just deletes useless OS files from the disk, and can have no effect.

Rockbox on the later iPods doesn't have a USB mode yet - what you are seeing as 'usb bootloader code' as actually Apple's emergency disk mode, which resides in Flash and rockbox has nothing to do with at all.
