[SOLVED] Apple Ipod 2g Mini 4GB: Can't mount with Rockbox
(1/1)
BandD:
I recently updated my rockbox firmware to version r17032M-080408 (grabbed obviously on the 8th of April) and I'm unable to mount my Ipod in Ubuntu Linux if the player is in Rockbox mode. When I plug the Ipod into my computer, a usb connector shows up on the Ipod (so rockbox understands that it's in usb mode) but it's like it freezes. If I unplug the Ipod from the computer I'm stuck with the USB connector on the screen and the only way I can get the Ipod to respond is a hard reset (Menu+Select).
It mounts fine if the Ipod starts up with the crappy Apple firmware, so it's not a huge deal, but I'd prefer not to touch that hideous thing if possible.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Dustin
LambdaCalculus:
The iPods don't yet have a full USB mode under Rockbox. You have to go back into the Apple firmware (shut down, press MENU+SELECT and immediately flick the hold switch on) to transfer files.
Chronon:
I don't think you need that "press MENU+SELECT" bit in there. From "off" you just need to boot and immediately flick the hold switch on.
BandD:
Ok cool. I didn't realize that. Thanks for the info! I'll keep Rockin'...
