Problem playing ogg with Ipod mini 2g
heerschop:
I have a problem playing ogg vorbis files on my Ipod mini 2g.
I am currently using Rockbox build 17031 2008-04-08.
From the database I choose an ogg track. The track begins playing without problem.
The problem start when I choose another ogg track from the database. The current track stops playing but then there is a huge delay and disk spinning before the chosen track begins playing (up to 30 sec delay).
This only happens when playing ogg files with mp3 there is no delay.
I hope this can be fixed.
Greetings ben

Did the ogg files copy over without getting corrupted? Try running "chkdsk /r" on it.
Chronon:
I'm not sure if there's another problem here, but one thing to check is that your .ogg files do not contain ID3 tags. They should only have vorbis comments, not ID3 tags.
I don't know if this will help, just trying to exclude some possibilities.
heerschop:
There are no errors found with checkdisk.
My ogg file tags had replaygain information applied after removing this information the delay was shorter but still there.
A way to trigger the delay on my Ipod:
Make a directory on the Ipod with at least 11 ogg tracks in it.
- Select the first track from the database. The track starts playing, leave the track playing
- Go back to the database and select the last track. With a short delay the track start playing.
- Go back to the database and select the first track. Now there is a huge delay before playing continues.
I also found another glitch. When I use the button to the previous track, rockbox goes to the next track instead.
It seems that Rockbox has a problem when choosing a previous track.
Btw, This problem is only there when playing ogg files.
