« on: April 07, 2008, 07:08:12 PM »
Would it be possible to run the Doomsday Engine (http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Doomsday) on Rockdoom?

Rockdoom is mostly a port of PrBoom.  This would be a port of a new engine.  It doesn't look too portable to an embedded environment at first glance.

As Chronon said, it would have to be a whole new port (not anything at all to do with Rockdoom). The whole point of Doomsday is hardware-accelerated graphics and sound--lighting effects, 3d models & hi-res textures, 3d sound, etc. Have you seen ANY games like that for ANY daps? ... Didn't think so. It's not possible with the current hardware.
