4thGen iPod....sound cuts off, then pause and unpause music is left channel only

(1/2) > >>

Hi. When I am playing my 4thGen iPod, the music will sometimes cut off. Then I will pause it, then unpause it again, and upon unpausing it, the music comes back but through the left channel only. This happens quite frequently and is pretty annoying.

Anyone know if the latest build for the 4thGen fixes this? The build I grabbed was from a year ago.

Any workaround for this.

First, this isn't an installation question -- you obviously have Rockbox up and running. Second, before asking for help we always ask you to update to the most current build. Please follow our guidelines first.

And a build from a year ago is heavily outdated. You can't compare them at all.

As an important addition: if you update a one year old rockbox on an Ipod, you probably need to update the bootloader too. There were some important changes to it in March/April of last year, if I remember correctly. All in all things changed a lot since then (you can have a look at the MajorChanges page in the wiki)...

Thanks for the reply guys. I apologize bluebrother, I don't come here often so can you please tell me the name of the correct sub-forum I should post issues such as these in the future?

Also....hmm, I just noticed the date I downloaded it....May 8, 2007. So hasn't QUITE reached a year yet and since pixelma, you said the last major update was March/April, I think I should be safe right? :D

edit: But just in case I wanna get a newer bootloader, can you please provide a link to it? Thanks :)

The manual has all relevant links. Besides, updating the bootloader is safe and therefore I strongly recommend doing so in any case.
