Newest firmware: possible to get the old firmware back?

I updated my Sansa e280 mp3 player. I want to install Rockbox, but my firmware is too new. :P

Anyways, a way to get back the old firmware on? please help

You can use recovery mode to install an older version of the original firmware from here:

I can't get in to Recovery mode :S

Are you holding down the record button the whole time the player boots up?  There will be a message on the screen saying "Welcome to Recovery Mode" and instructions to insert the USB cable.

It doesn't work :S I just get the message: "Please unlock the HOLD switch to power on. System shutdown".

What should I do? I have to get my player to play FLAC, all my music is coverted to FLAC...

Yes, that is a v2 I'm afraid that Rockbox doesn't work on.  The v1 and v2 are completely different in hardware, you cannot downgrade from one to the other.

Correct.  Rockbox does not run on your player.  Work is underway to port it to the v2 players, but there is no way to predict if or when that work will succeed.

Just updated my e280 v1 with the latest sandisk's official v1 firmware (v01.02.24F) and it b0rked the rockbox.. Now it just boots straight into the original firmware..  ???

Any ideas how to get Rockbox working again?
