Fantastic looking themes - but I can't seem to get the album art to show on my screen. I just get the red '404' default display.

I've tried cover.bmp and cover.100x100.bmp and I'm using a very current build (17039).

Any advise greatly appreciated...

a couple of checks:

1) your bmp file is in the same folder as the tracks, correct?
2) try turning off rockbox and then restart it.

.. can't think of anything else ...

Thanks for this, but the files are in the same folder, and I've tried both turning it off and resetting.

I've been using themes with artwork without any problems until now - it's just this one that doesn't seem to work for me at the moment. That's why I thought perhaps the choice of build may have been a factor.

Cool, actually I think this is a bit of an improvement.  The only thing I never liked about the original was how some of the font sizes seemed to be too big for the area causing avoidable scrolling.  A viewportified custom-list patch is on the tracker, hopefully it can get flushed out so this theme can be perfect in every way.

Matt,

The problem with the Album art appears to be where AA section is placed in the wps file.  I found that by moving it from being at the end of the WPS and instead placing it under the first viewport (shown below) the Album art then displays properly.

%V|0|0|320|240|1|FF00FF|FF00FF|
%?mp<%xda|%xdb|%xdc|%xdd|%xde>%?mh<%xdA|>%?bp<%xdy|>%?bc<%xdz|>%?lh<%xdC|>%?pv<%xdf|%xdg|%xdh|%xdi|%xdj|%xdk|%xdl|%xdm|%xdn|%xdo|%xdp>%?rr<%xdD|%xdE|%xdE|%xdF|%xdF|%xdG|%xdG|%xdH|%xdH|%xdI|%xdI>%?bl<%xdq|%xdr|%xds|%xdt|%xdu>
%Cl|40|64|s100|s100|
%C

Hope this helps.

Fantastic stuff - thanks Footloose... I've amended each of the WPS files, and the album art's working fine now.  :)

I've been dabbling with my own WPS ideas and experimenting with files over the past few days, but being a relative newcommer to Rockbox I've still got a lot to learn!

Thanks for figuring things out guys, I will make an attempt at updating the zip soon, unless someone gets to it before me.

mruddo, if you've got all the .wps files corrected, could you email them to me?----->   evilg123_at_yahoo.ca  Thanks! ;)

Just before you update the zip files, you might want to check the playback status images loading. Currently about this, there is:

Code: [Select]
...
# playback images
%xl|a|stop.bmp|144|207|
%xl|b|pause.bmp|144|207|
%xl|c|play.bmp|144|207|
...
%?mp<%xda|%xdb|%xdc|%xdd|%xde>

So "play" should be image "c" and "pause" should be "b", they seem to be inverted (actually since the "pause" image is also in the main background image, you could leave the pause conditional empty "saving" this image loading). Also, there are no bmp image files (neither %xl instructions) for ffw & rew (images "d" & "e"), so those are not working (I found it because I like these themes but  couldn't make them work without the bmp's)

And finally not that it really affects anything (rather than maybe unnecessary image loading in almost every ipod theme), but regarding playback status on iPods, if anyone knows (??)... is displaying the "stop" button for the ipod functional?... I mean I don't put it in my themes since I guess ipods never show "stop", but (100%?) the themes have stop button images... and if I'm wrong, this is for sure the SILLIEST of questions EVER (probably should ask under another alias) :D ...but... I don't know how to "stop" my ipod!!! (I know how to pause though ::))

evilg,

I've sent the WPS files to you as requested...

hhannah,

I did wonder if this may have been deliberate: i.e. to show what the button does, as opposed to what the player is doing. It's a little unconventional, but does make some sense!

In my very limited experience of WPS files, I too wondered about the need for a Stop button - especially as I'd never seen it displayed. However, I did notice it appear momentarily on completion of the current playlist - i.e once all files have played, the player appears to "stop". It then went back to the main menu, so you don't see it for long - which does indeed beg the question, do we really need it?

On the iPod "Stop" is performed by a long press of Play/Pause.

It's not such a silly question.  I agree that Stop graphics for the WPS seem extraneous.  Pressing Stop ends playback, clears the playlist and exits the While Playing Screen.  Any display of a "stop" state in the WPS will be short lived, as mruddo said.  I would agree that it's probably worth eliminating from WPSs.  Why not save the memory?

I agree, if that's the intention, though unusual, it's a nice idea... makes sense when you look at how the "buttons" are displayed on the screen. In that case, there's still something to do about ffw & rew, apply a similar logic, remove the %xdd & %xde instructions...

Edit: I checked the original pijulius version, and it was indeed intended to be as you explained. The existing ffw & rew instructions, while lacking of the corresponding images, makes the intention confuse though... anyway, it was like that from before. So it seems that it is just that %xdd & %xde are unnecessary in %?mp<%xda|%xdb|%xdc|%xdd|%xde>

OK  ;)... I guess I didn't call it "stopping" because when I resume playing, it goes back to the playing position where it was (is this settings-related?)... but regardless, it is clear that "stop" is not displayed (except for the short period mentioned)

I totally agree (maybe in the CustomWPS wiki?)

Sure.  I think a note about this would be appropriate.

I don't want to be a party-pooper, for this is exactly the effort in cleaning up modernizing WPSs I like to see, but do we have a clear chain-of-license?
