Bluetooth headphones
« on: April 03, 2008, 04:56:41 PM »
I have a pair of iMuff bluetooth headphones made by WiGear (http://www.wi-gear.com/products/imuffs/). They work when booting into the ipod's apple OS but not in Rockbox. I was having trouble finding information about this on rockbox.org and though I would ask here. They use the standard ipod connector at the bottom.

Is it fair to say that there is no way of setting up Rockbox to allow these headphones to work. Will Rockbox ever be able to support headphones that utilize such an ipod bluetooth dongle.

There is currently no support for that type of thing in rockbox, afaik (so no, you can't just flip a switch or anything).

If someone implements it, then yes.  Since rockbox is done by volunteers on their own time, it is difficult to estimate when that might happen (or even if it will).

Edit: I should mention that I don't have any first hand experience with this particular device.  If I understand correctly, devices which only use audio-out and charging capabilities of the ipod may work.  More information can be found here: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IpodAccessories

dillinjah,

I would be ever so grateful if you could either fill out the above mentioned wiki page yourself, or look at the wiki page and PM me all needed fields so I can fill it out myself.
If you can link me to a photo of the item for positive identification I would be ever so grateful.  A photograph taken by you would be even better!

Thanks.
