Edit Rockbox Builds?

Hi Everyone!

Sorry, I'm totally new totally new to programming and rockbox so this may be a stupid question or be in the wrong section.  ???

Anyway, I'm wondering how it is possible to edit rockbox builds to personalize them etc?

For example, I am using Chrisjs's build and the theme I am using (http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21724) only works properly on this build. However I would really like a custom boot screen,  or the ability to change menu items and the names of menu items (change Resume to Now Playing etc.). Or create new menu items.

Is it easy to do this?
How can I do this?
Or is it possible to somehow individually change the things I have asked about?

You can do anything you like, the code is all available under the GPL.

Check out the for developers section of the wiki, but very briefly, you need to

1)  Check out the code from SVN

2)  Make whatever changes you want to the code

3)  Compile it into a build.

If you have not done any coding before, you have some learning to do!
