playback issue solved?
(1/1)

I was having an issue with playback that was creating large gaps of silence between tracks. I have several gigs of music added with itunes and some music that I have added drag-n-drop into my own file structure. The problem arose when I would play tracks from the latter, then tried to use the database to play my other music. After accessing the database, the first song would play no problem, but switching/skipping tracks would create a long pause (30 seconds to a minute or more) before playing the next track. Its pretty annoying when you're trying to run on the treadmill and fix your ipod simultaneously :P
Before posting, I updated the rockbox firmware and the problem seems to have gone away. Now, occasionally the tracks in the database get mixed up.
I am still making this post for two reasons:
1. I did not initially have this problem, and expect it to come back. I also have not seen any other complaints of this nature in the forums.
2. I hate using the database. I would much rather use my own directory structure. Are there any utilities that can convert all the random filenames into something recognizable? I simply have way too much music to do this by hand.
I hope these questions/issues aren't "stoopid new guy" questions. You all do an amazing job offering and running an amazing piece of software. Many thanks to you all!
PS. Pacbox is utterly amazing
