AGH!!! someone please help me e260R [FIXED]
« on: March 31, 2008, 09:21:43 PM »
ok, so it starts out, i installed rockbox on my sansa e260r
everything was fine except it couldn't switch to rhapsody to charge and add music
so came back here, and followed directions to uninstall and all this stuff to get it to work(to the mark, every thing was exactly what they told me, and the files were from the links)
now it comes up with :
Rockbox bootloader
version 4.0
sandisk sansa e200
partition 0: 0x0B 3814 MB
partition 1:0X84 20 MB
loading rockbox....
can't load rocbox.mi4
file not found
can't load rockbox.e200
file not found

exact message
then it shuts off a few seconds later
the computer doesn't recognize it unless in recovery mode
rockbox utility doesn't recognize it at all

please can someone help me??!?!
please help!
btw, it took me 3 months before i figured out how to fix "main image load failed. switch to recovery mode"
so instructions for braindead monkeys appreciated

go into recovery mode and copy a sansa firmware file onto it... then reinstall rockbox and follow the instructions (or use rbutil)

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

OK, put your Sansa in recovery mode.
Download a copy of the R series firmware at http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1449
Put the firmware on the 16MB recovery disk.
That should restore it to the way it was.
Then, if you want to reinstall rockbox, you can bypass the bootloader patching part since the bootloader is always patched once it is done once.

Since you're not using Rockbox, why are you asking here?

Sorry, but these are technical forums for Rockbox.  I advise you to find some Sansa specific forum for this question.
