Hi,
I hope I chose the right topic for my thread. If not please do not beat me up

At the moment I am "flirting" with a Sansa e280. The thing that keeps me a bit away from it is, that Rockbox does not run on v2. Rockbox would be a very good argument for me to buy the player.
I already browsed through the forums and read statements like "chances are good that the v2 will get a rockbox port" but also that you cannot say when it's finished. I can totally understand that as the volunteers are doing this work in their freetime.
So I browsed the German Amazon.de a bit. I found 2 Sandisk Sansa e280. But there are no pictures that show the whole back of the player.
The first link is:
hereIt sais that this player is available at Amazon.de since 18th September 2006.
The
technical details are: (just a quick translation, so mistakes are possible)

This was the first one...
Here is the second player. Amazon tells that it is available since 2. January 2007. It also seems to look a little different. So I guess it is newer. The
Technical Details are:

My guess is that the first mentioned player is a v1, because the second lists some "digital audio" features. I do not find a suitable translation for "audible support" so I might be wrong.
Though, I am not sure. What do you guess? The first mentioned device is also a very bit cheaper...
Kind Regards and keep up your work with rockbox. It truely makes a rockbox of every player... I installed it on a friends Ipod!
