cannot play mpeg on 5th gen ipod

hello everyone
i cannot play mpeg files on my ipod

i had same problem with jpeg files, but i fixed that problem
when i tried to open jpeg files its gives me error .rockbox/rocks/jpeg.rocks.rocks
so i changed extension jpeg.rocks to jpeg.rocks.rocks
thats solves the jpeg problem

but when i click on mpeg its not opening its not even showing any error also
i cannot open mpeg

please help

What extension do the files have and how were they created?

What revision of Rockbox are you using?

Try deleting your .rockbox folder and unzipping a current build to see if file corruption due to the first unzipping is the problem.

i'm using rockbox version r16681-080316
i downloaded the zip files from rockbox and extracted directly into ipod
i'm trying to play mpeg extension but its not working
its not even showing any error

Please update to a current build and try again.  Delete the .rockbox folder from the root of your iPod, then extract the new one, then give us an exact directory listing of the iPod.

i deleted my old .rockbox and installed new r16941 build
everything working now
but sometimes i'm getting error "data abort at 0000E274(0)" or sometimes just black screen when playing mpeg files
i cannot go back i have restart my ipod

i forgot to mention i more thing
i upgraded my ipod original firmware to 1.3 version using itunes 7.6

i guess this has nothing to do with the error?

It might have something to do with it.  Though, I would think if this was a real causal relationship that we would be seeing a rash of complaints about this.  Can you also reset your settings to default?  

Did this start happening right after an iPod firmware update?
