Hi
First post, be kind! :-)
I'm a big fan of the iPod-management style of the (windows-only, freeware) program "vPod" (
http://www.vonnieda.org/software/vpod).
I've used it before, but can't use it now becuase it doesn't support the newest Apple-firmwares and is Windows-only (I'm currently using OS X).
The concept is that it loads the contents of a music-source folder on your PC with (presumably) all your music.
You can then easily mark/unmark the artists/albums/songs you want to sync to your iPod.

Use iTunes, you say? Well iTunes can synch chosen playlists etc., but you can't have the complete and easy overlook over what you've synched and _what you haven't synched_ like vPod offers.
So my plea to the Rockbox-team (or someone willing and able) is:
Can you please make a similar program/script/solution for Rockbox?
It can't be too hard to make a small program that compares the contents on your player with a folder on your PC?
I know Rockbox is all about having full control over your hardware and being able to drag & drop/delete files without using any 3rd party software, but really miss the management-style vPod offers.
My 5.5g iPod is currently using iPod firmware/iTunes, but if a feature like I'm describing above would be made it's going back to Rockbox in no time! :-)
