30 gb Ipod video issues
« on: March 28, 2008, 06:33:43 PM »
Okay so I am a very computer adept person(I am an IT) and I stumbledupon the RockBox project. I had been having issues with my Ipod randomly skipping and the like. The Ipod also always asked me to restore it.

So I said screw you Apple and installed the far superior RockBox firmware. The glorious news is rockbox has eliminated most of the problems. It still acts strange skipping sometimes but very rarely. I was wondering what I can do to fix this?

Also what program can I put songs onto it with now since Itunes sucks?

Can you explain a little bit more what you mean by  "acts strange skipping sometimes"? What skips? portions within the track? or skips to a next track? I haven't notice any of this problem with Rockbox on my 60GB iPod.

Also.. you can use whatever program you want to put the songs in the ipod. You can even drag and drop the files and put them in whatever folders you like, the way you like it best organized.

You can still use Itunes and Rockbox but then you'll have to use the Database to play the songs.

Take a read of the manual so you can see all the possibilities!

I think it's the HD since it randomly skips to the next track and stuff. This sucks because Rock Box from what I got to use was awesome.

If you Hard Disk is flaky I don't think that Rockbox will be able to help on that matter.
Have tried to scan the disk for errors or bad sectors? Have you ever formated it?

If you still have problems with the HD then you could buy a replacement drive.
