There is a microSD to SD adapter so that you can fit your mini card into a bigger card reader.
The other way around (SD to microSD) is literally almost impossible because of size. Even if there were an adapter, it would bulge out and cause more of a problem than a help.

The 3rd hit of the Google search that MarcGuay linked provides an example of an adapter that allows you to use an SD in a micro SD slot.  Obviously, you can't fit the adapter + SD card inside of the microSD slot, but I do not think that's what the original poster was intending.

i was intending to have a ribbon cable or similar going around to the back of the player, kept under my case.
also, will rockbox support a 32 gb sd card?  i have read it will support an 8gb, but nothing to support a 32.

Replies elsewhere here indicate that it should, but untill there is a 32Gig card available to test...
Someone posed a link to a site selling 16Gig cards but I don't know if anyone has invested and reported the results.
