ctfshjohn:
I am having a problem with this 320 shutting down sometimes/ acting funny all the time while recording in wav 44.1. and mp3 mode..
i get a warning message flashing in and out with the recording time area,
where the time also is, saying "warning 00000002 "and also the unit sometime shuts itself off when it shouldnt., appears to stop and start recording.
i just left it recording all night with the charger on it and it recorded 5 files in various time chunks.
i believe it could be related to a issue where i need a new battery, it doesnt shut off while playing however............
thanks for your time if anyone has answers i would appreciate it.
ive been trying for days to get this unit working properly.

AlexP:
What version of Rockbox are you running?  Check it from the menu - System - Rockbox Info

ctfshjohn:
thank you for your response. i just deleted all items from the 320,reformatted and reinstalled 1.28k iriver.
i also installed r16782-080324  rockbox with auto installation utility, same results:warning:
the other time a had maually installed it not using utility.
i do know my batt needs to b replaced but it acted up last night while recording on the charger so i figured this recording issue is something more complicated. is it possible i bought a messed up 320 last week?
again,, THANKS

:edit: i think i heard the unit just now making a wierd noise when the warning started

:edit : just installed r16379-080223 figuring a different version might help, i got the warning right away...

maybe the hard drive is shot,
but it only had a couple gigs on it when i got it so it didnt need defrag but i did format it after i deleted the information on it..

harddrive making weird noises... hmmmm

You'll get that warning when the code is unable to write the data do disk in time, so a harddrive acting up is a probable cause. If you formatted it and it still acts up, maybe it is time to look out for a replacement?

ctfshjohn:
it seems as though it came from my pc.
any computer knowledge based individuals can confirm this?
this warning shows up in windows as a lock up or freeze.
somehow i think it got transferred from my windows to the iriver.
thanks
