Default Boot to Sandisk firmware and not Rockbox.
« on: March 21, 2008, 10:33:44 PM »
Hey guys, hope this isn't posted elsewhere.

I'm looking to find a way to make my Sandisk Sansa e260 default boot to the Original firmware and maybe by pressing the left key while booting up, I can boot to Rockbox. Is this possible!

Please help!

You would need to modify the bootloader from the source code and compile your own. See this page for information about how to set up a Rockbox development environment.

Then lets just assume, for a moment, that I can't code for beans.

Am I screwed?

EDIT: And its not the fact that I don't want to learn. I'm working in a limited timeframe.

There's also this:

but it's unsupported so if you have any problems with it you should talk to the creator.

Thank you very much MarcGuay! Worked like a charm. I'll only use Rockbox for games, MPEG movies, and other plugins, but I like the original firmware for music database browsing. Thank you again!

Just out of curiosity, why?  I couldn't stand the original firmware.  What feature do you like about the original firmware's music database that the Rockbox database doesn't offer?
