Problem with frozen screen in IPOD 1st Gen
yomero:
I downloaded the current build and then just unzipped directly to the drive of the IPOD. That is what I've been doing since I first installed several months ago.
zajacattack:
Can you boot into the original firmware?
If not, can you connect to the computer by rebooting and then holding select+play right after?
Llorean:
The message you're getting is a bootloader message. If you simply updated Rockbox, the bootloader hasn't changed and there should be no reason this message would pop up. As well, this message only shows up when trying to load linux, which only happens if you hold down the "Play" button while booting.
Could it be possible you're accidentally pressing the button, or your iPod have developed a hardware problem?
yomero:
Yes I am able to run the original firmware.
And I can also start the IPOD in HD mode.
When I try to start in Rockbox mode I just get a frozen screen, no error message, just this "ROCKbox" message in the screen (Small, Vertical and in the lower right side of the screen)
Is it possible to download an old build, let's say from a week ago? I updated a Sansa C200 and it just can't finish the boot.
Both the IPOD and the C200 had problems with the current build.

Sounds like the backdrop bmp used for the cabbie theme, but missing the menu.
