Couldn't turn on Ipod 5G video

Hi guys,

Rockbox asked me to reboot my Ipod to enable the database. I held play button for few seconds. The Ipod says 'shutting down' then shut down.
Then it never wake up...no matter what button I press. There is no response when I plug it to my computer as well.
Does anyone know what's going on here?

Apparently this is a bug with the Apple bootloader where it sometimes doesn't turn on after turning off.  Just do a hard reboot (flick hold switch on and off again, then hold MENU+SELECT) to bring it back up again.

Mine makes this same thing too. Do you have also ipodlinux installed?

I have experienced this too, and I have never installed iPodLinux.

I have seen reports of this on Apple's forums by people who have never touched Rockbox or iPodLinux.  It's just rarer in that case since the iPod almost never gets turned off.

I tested 10 times to shut down from rockbox, and i got that booting failure 2 times. It's totally random. I havent never experienced this issue when i shut down from linux. It goes also to deep sleep. Would it be possible to add sleeping function to rockbox, not just that deep sleep?

Would it be possible, that rockbox turns ipod off by using another method than ipl and makes apple bootloader hang? Just thinking
