Question regarding RB Battery correspondance

I'm aware that rockbox drains your battery, nearly at least 10x as fast too by what ive seen, but thats fine since i just use it for some of the kickass games. I was wondering, perhaps a foolish question, but, would having it on your ipod alone but usig the apple firmware still cause that increased rate of battery drainage?

Rockbox does NOT drain the battery "10x as fast" as the iPod firmware.  On some iPods, Rockbox exceeds the original firmware's battery life.  On others, Rockbox gets about 80% of the runtime of the original firmware.

But no, if you're using the Apple firmware, the the fact that you have Rockbox installed should not affect your battery life.
