HEY

I just worked soo hard to get this IpodVideo which worked fine btw. installed itunes 7. whatever its at now, synced my library, and played it fine with the orignial os that was installed onto it. I just now 10 mins ago installed Rockbox, it looked like it was working... rea dmy database.. etc successful.. I then held down play and it said "Now SHutting Down" then powered down. Now it wont turn on at all! no matter what key combos i do nothing works, not even reset. Please help me as your software just destroyed all of the hard owrk i went through attaining this Ipod. Please, any help is appreciated.  :-[

Calm down.

1) Please change the title to something descriptive.  The guidelines require it.  And you'll do yourself a favor by attracting more attention.

2) Sometimes you have to hold the key combination for up to 30 seconds or more.  How long did you hold it before giving up?

k well appologies for the way i delivered the message  :P
I held it for about a min and now all of a sudden it powered up. I'm worried to reshut it off however. And for some reason, now that it's running and on, i plug in my wire to connect it to the PC and i get no notification that the comp is picking it up. I'm doing this to remove the rockbox software as its likely only to cause me more problems. Since i cant remove it via rbutility due to my comp being unable to detect it, is there a way to manually erase the software from the ipod? or at least a way to switch back to the Ipod firmware  so that i can try connecting with that? Thanks in advance.

Reset using the Menu + Select button combination and then immediately turn on the hold switch.  This will boot the Apple firmware.   To return to Rockbox, just reset the iPod again; otherwise, it will stay in the Apple firmware.

Thank you mate this gives me somewhere to start. I succesfully booted back to the reg firmware
If its like this i might not need to erase rockbox ill see how my ipod continues to respond to it. Now hopefully ill be able to sync and connect again  :P
