Install problem

J27:
Okay, I am not a Linux user and I am new to RockBox... It looked cool so I thought I would try because I want my iPod to be different :). Anyway, I used the Rockbox Utility, set my filesystem device and chose iPod 1st Gen(I know it's 1st Gen). I did the Complete Install and rebooted my iPod, now I get the black screen that gives me this

--- Quote ---Rockbox boot loader
Version: 2.0
IPOD version:

Partition 1: 0x0B 1874MB
Loading Rockbox...
Error!
Can't load rockbox.ipod:
Read failed (chksum)
Hold MENU+SELECT to
reboot then SELECT+PLAY
for disk mode
--- End quote ---

I have no idea what to do? Can someone help me here?

Thanks...

Llorean:
The first generation iPod was not made in 2GB models. What page did you use to identify your iPod? Are you perhaps confusing "First generation iPod" with "First generation iPod Nano"?

Febs:
In other words, is your iPod one of these:

Or one of these?

J27:
Lol... I gave you all the info but not "Nano". Sorry about that... It's a Nano, and the Rockbox utility, IMO, is awful. This time I just downloaded again, unzipped files to my iPod and used the ipodpatcher to put in the bootloader. Works awesome...

I am wanting to make my own apps for it, like an improved calculator with some functions made by myself. Is this at all possible?

Thanks

Chronon:
The follow up question would ask whether or not you selected Nano in Rockbox Utility.  Information on what you did and how it failed is still useful to the people who code Rockbox Utility.

Of course you can improve things however you like.  Patches should be posted to the patch tracker -- link is on the left side of the page.

Welcome to Rockbox.
