Remove Rockbox ?!
Chronon:
In order for it to be shown in My Computer you need to tell iTunes to "Enable disk use". Make sure that's set if you want to access the ipod as an external drive.
The white lines almost sound like a bad connection. It might be worth trying to open the unit up and reseat the cable that connects the LCD to the board. That's my first suspicion given that this was replaced recently.
eekhoornstaartlolly:
well I can still use it in disk mode and it now comes on my computer. it even starts to synchronise my songs..
though when i start my ipod it shows these white lines, just like when I connect my ipod to the computer with the hold button on.
I put it on disk mode, and am now letting the battery run dead. because I can't turn it off or anything.
it's like he wants to start but he can't because there is no program to start.
how can i put the ipod software back on the ipod? I used the restore and it completed succseffully, but when i turned it on, the white ligns came on the apple logo.
what is with the ipodpatcher? do I need it as some sort of booting program
I am TOTALLY new at this...
Chronon:
If you restored it, iTunes should have put the firmware back onto your iPod and wiped all traces of Rockbox from the iPod. Your current problem does not have anything to do with Rockbox. However, it doesn't sound like iTunes properly restored your iPod. Was the iPod cleared of all media files and the .rockbox folder?
eekhoornstaartlolly:
nope, there were still folders on it. should I delete EVERYTHING first then? just leave it totally blanc even without the hidden files.
Chronon:
I'm saying that if it didn't remove all of the media folders plus Rockbox related files then it did not restore your player. It will create the iPod_Control directory and other directories that originally come on your iPod, but any files that you added should be absent. If that's not the case then iTunes did not do its job.
