New build - no sleep timer?
« on: March 15, 2008, 09:00:04 AM »
I really miss the sleep timer function in the new build. Is there a chance to get a plugin or something. I had an older Version with it, but the new Cabby 2.0 doesn´t work with it. Would be nice if anybody has a solution...Thanks.

A long time ago, the sleep timer feature moved to the System option in the main menu - are you saying it's not there for you?

yes - i looked for it in main menu/general settings/system/ but there´s no sleep timer anymore. I had a look in the current manual right now - it says that there actually should be a sleep timer, but none of the themes in the newest build displays it. I´m using an iriver H340 b.t.w

Themes don't change the menu, only its appearance. Thus the selected theme makes no difference at all.

No, the "System" option directly in the main menu (it's the last option), not the System option in General Settings.

I did a new installation and now I´ve got the sleep timer function. Does it only work when the player isn´t plugged to the charger? Is there a possibility to have the sleep timer shutdown in both modes (batterie & charger)? Thanks a lot...

On some targets it is not possible to shutdown while charging (e.g H300).
What is your target?

Yes - its an Iriver H340. But why is that function disabled? The original Firmware was able to do so. Can i get the current H300 source code anywhere? Maybe I´m able to change the function by my own...

No, you can't completely shutdown your H300 while charging.

You see, charging is software controlled and it needs the unit on for a proper charging (it could be dangerous for this model otherwise). If you noticed H300 is never completely off when you charge, even on the OF.

On the other hand the sleep timer could be programmed to stop playback, if it isn't already doing this.
