NetWork Error in Rockbox Utility
« on: March 10, 2008, 05:43:59 PM »
I am not sure if this has been brough up before, so I appologize in advance if this question has already been answered.

I have been attempting to use the Windows Auto Install Rockbox Utility for my Ipod Generation 5 60 gig.

Everytime I attempt to start the program up it says "Network error: Request Aborted. Please check your network and proxy settings." Thus, I cannot do a single thing using this program.

I am connected to a college network in a dorm. I have tried using no proxy and detect system settings but to no avail. What should I do to fix this problem?

thank you

You could always install rockbox manually.

the system settings for the proxy value uses the values you entered for the proxy in IE's settings. If you haven't set that up correctly (maybe because you're using a different browser) this won't work. The value should be shown in the input dialog if it's detected correctly. If your dorm requires you to use a proxy you need to find the value yourself and add it manually.
