Playlist / Sort order Configuration Problem
« on: March 10, 2008, 12:02:22 AM »
Good evenming,
I;ve been using Rock box on my ipod 5G for a couple of weeks and I am delighted it can plauy flac files, my prefered download format - no more stinking mp3 conversion required.

However,  I am having trouble with a particular configuration.  For playlists over 99 files (some of my audiobooks extend to that amount)  I am getting the playlist showing up as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, ... , 10, 101, 102, ... using the database/album access. When I use Files the proper order is presetned ...

The tracks contained 001, 002, ... 100, 101, ...

Not sure where to go with this. I'd like to have the playlisy pick up the tracknum which it may be doing in a very confusing way.  Is tracknum alpabetic or numerically sorted? That could be the only thing I can think of causing this problem

ps. Using today's build.

track are sorted asciibetical, so you either need to use the database or rename your files with leading 0's

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

If I understand the original post correctly it does work with the file view (because of the leading 0s). The database only auto-extends to two digits, so he gets the order he describes. A workaround is to change the %02d to %03d in the format definitions of tagnavi.config (this will get overwritten with every update) or create your own tagnavi_custom.config: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/DataBase#tagnavi_config_v2_0_Syntax
