Can't change usb mode on c250??

I recently purchased a refurb c250 through buy.com. It didn't come with a manual, but from what I've gathered I need to change the usb mode to install rockbox. I go to settings, but there's nothing in the that pertains to the usb!? The firmware is 1.01.05. I can't get it to be recognized by the rockbox installer, nor can I do a manual install. Please help!!!

You may be able to roll backwards to an earlier firmware version, but I'm skimpy on the details. Use Google.

Am I understanding correctly, that these players will not recognize sdhc cards? Not even with rockbox installed?

Rockbox will recognize sdhc cards. As long as we don't have fully working USB you'll have to use a card reader to put your data on it though.

Ok, so I followed all instructions, got rockbox to boot. If I turn it on, it boots rockbox, but as soon as I plug it in to the usb the sansa firmware boots. Is this normal? I've tried searching but came up with nothing.

The USB work-in-progress hasn't been implemented in the regular builds yet, so you have to use the Sansa firmware to transfer files and charge.  (Yes, it's normale).
