hi
i  forgot to mention, that, originally the tracks where in an specific folder before i split them in folders, does this cause the errors?

cause when i add nnew songs rockbox doesnt recognize them, i have to add them using itunes so rockbox can read them.

GREETINGS ;D

hhannah:
When you said that you re-arranged the songs in folders, you did that simply creating folders in the root of your iPod (in Disk Mode) with some folder structure?

If you go to menu > files (on your Ipod, running rockbox), and browse that way, can you find the folders and the songs? Can you give an example of the folders' structure (names) and song names?

Also please explain in detail how you where searching your songs using rockbox, before you re-arranged them

hi
ok , in my ipodwas a folder named ipod control, inside where 5 folders:itunes, calendar, music, diaplay & artwork. before i re arrenge them , the rockbox database read the files from  music, in ipod control, but inside music i create a lot of folders and rearrange them per album.
but when i turn on my ipod and go to database and try to play a song it says NO FILE!!, i think i will have to re install rockbox, so the new database can read the music file in a rearranded way.

also i did this in my root menu of the ipod i create a folder called music, and inside i put a folder with a album name, and inside i put 5 songs and a bmp file and name it cover and it work, but in order to read them in my ipod i needed to go to files instead of database, but when i go to databse again to read the same file it says NO FILE!!, and in another track says TRACK ERROR.

i hope this explain my weird situation

THANKS 4 ALL THE HELP

GREETINGS

Yes, it pretty much explains it!  ;)

Ok, first, you don't need to re install rockbox.

As you now know, in rockbox there are two basic ways of browsing your music: 1- Using Database 2-Browsing through "Files".

If you decide to keep apple's itunes files for your music (rather annoying names for folders and song files), you'll have to use database. In this case, everytime you add music or make any changes, just go to menu>sttings>general settings>database>update now (and of course, please read the database section in the manual & other resources). In that case, probably the best way to display album art is what strife89 suggested.

If you instead decide to have your own folder structure and names in the root of your ipod, database will also work if you want to use it, but it would not be necessary; additionally, you'll be able to browse your music through "Files". In that case, for album art displaying, what I suggested to you will work fine.
