Sansa e250r broken LCD
« on: March 07, 2008, 02:56:55 PM »
Installed Rockbox on my sansa e250r and it was great and loved it while it lasted but i broke the screen on it  :'(

i ended up taking rockbox off of it and trying to just play music hit and miss hoping i would be able to select something and play it but that was too frusterating.

So i took everything off of it including the LCD so not its just the board and stuff and it works great for mass storage.

Question:

Can i remove the sandisk firmware so it will act just like a usb storage device and not have the typical folders and stuf that you can never get off?

I don't know anything about sansas, but if I were you I would've kept rockbox on it and just setup voice support so I could've continued to play music.

When/if Rockbox has it's own USB mode you will/would never have to boot into the Sansa firmware again.

Seconded. And speech is enabled by default, so as long as english.voice is in the langs directory, you'll hear Rockbox announce the menus.

Why not put Rockbox back on your Sansa and try it? :)

If they are both v1's, then yes, the parts should be interchangable
