What ipod do you have?  What OS (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, ...) are you running on your computer?

Are you running ipodpatcher as administrator/root ?

The ipod Classic is the 6th generation iPod, and we don't support that model.

Are you certain it's a Classic?

(EDIT: Fixed... thanks linuxstb for pointing out my error.)

The Classic comes in 80 and 160 GB only, so if yours is 60 GB it isn't a Classic.

I believe ipodpatcher requires admin rights.  On the Mac try running it with sudo, on XP you will need to log in using an admin account.

LambdaCalculus379's use of the phrase "we don't support that model yet" was misleading - there is no-one actively working on porting Rockbox to the newer ipods (the hardware is internally completely different to the older ipods, and to make matters worse, the firmware is protected by encryption).

So don't expect Rockbox to work on the Classic any time soon, if at all.

Unless, of course, you get the ball rolling by cracking the firmware and/or porting rockbox to the hardware. If you want to do this, go to the New Ports forum, but ONLY if you actually start the porting effort, not to post about how great it would be.

Those wiki pages can help you.
