I am running a ipod 4gen photo, is there a way to sleep the rockbox player like on the apple os so i don't have don't to boot it up every time??

Not that I know of.. I don't think there is a way. It'll boot on Rockbox everytime you turn it on.

Well, you could go to Settings->General Settings->System->Idle Poweroff ans set it to "Off", then whenever you wanted to "sleep" it, you could turn on hold and let the LCD fade out. This, however, would probably be a huge battery waster.

I don't think the display being off is the point.  It is the quick boot up from a state of using very little battery, as opposed to the slower start up from a state of using no battery.

yeah at the moment it is the only thing i really dislike about the rockbox software is the load times unlike the apple os where it was really snappy..

but i guess there are no secret ways to do so so ill just have to wait
